PIANO REPERTOIRE

Round I

A recital of a minimum of 25 but not to exceed 30 minutes in length. The program is free of choice.

Round II

1. A recital of a minimum of 50 but not to exceed 60 minutes in length; the repertoire will consist of works chosen by the candidate.
2. Included is a Chinese work commissioned for the Competition of not more than 8 mins in length. The score will be available for download on the competition website after 1 July 2017.

General

1. Total performance times, which will be strictly enforced, include pauses. The Jury retains the right to stop a performance if the competitor exceeds the allotted time. Repeats are at the discretion of the performer.
2. If requested, competitors must provide the jury a copy of the edition of the score used in the preparation of each work performed.
3. Changes in submitted repertoire or running order may be made only with permission of the Administration.
4. All repertoire of the competition has to be performed by heart. An exception is the commissioned Chinese work of round II.

VOCAL REPERTOIRE

Round I

A recital of a minimum of 18 but not to exceed 20 minutes in length. The program is free of choice.

Semi-final

1. A recital of a minimum of 25 but not to exceed 30 minutes in length. The program is free of choice but has to include a Chinese song; a selection of 10 songs in total for female and male voices will be available for download on the competition website after 7 July 2017.
2. A commissioned Chinese song of 8 mins in length, which will be available for download on the competition website after 7 July 2017.

Final

A concert not to exceed thirty minutes in length, consisting of the following works:

1. A Chinese song with orchestra; a selection will be released for download on the competition website after 11 July 2017.
2. An aria from the opera repertoire
3. A concert aria, or 1 or 2 movements of a concert aria. If scores and parts are not readily available, the Administration has the right to request that the participant sends them in advance.

General

1. All compositions are to be performed in the original language. Each work can be performed in only one round of the Competition. The order of performance can be determined by the competitor. The arias are to be performed in their original key. 
2. Total performance times, which will be strictly enforced, include pauses. The Jury retains the right to stop a performance if the competitor exceeds the allotted time. Repeats are at the discretion of the performer.
3. If requested, competitors must provide the jury a copy of the edition of the score used in the preparation of each work performed.
4. Changes in submitted repertoire or running order may be made only with permission of the Administration.
5. All repertoire must be performed by heart. Exceptions are the Chinese works of round 2 and round 3.

VIOLIN REPERTOIRE

Round I

A solo recital without piano accompaniment of a minimum of 25 but not to exceed 30 minutes in length. The program is free of choice.

Round II

1. A recital with piano accompaniment of a minimum of 50 but not to exceed 60 minutes in length; the repertoire will consist of works chosen by the candidate.
2. Included is a Chinese work commissioned for the Competition of not more than 8 minutes in length. The score will be available for download on the competition website after 1 July 2017.
